TNT, 26 June 2003Kaos ReignsBy far, this was the most exciting Thursday night I've ever had. I had been promising Trevor that I'd take him for a ride in Kaos for awhile and last Thursday night was the perfect time. We actually got out early, a first, but proceeded to get stuck under the clubhouse with 2 minutes to go and couldn't get back up to the line in time. A minute late and many lengths back we chased Fever (Bill and John) and FD Doug. Due to some fantastic spinnaker trimming by Trevor and some nice puffs, we started reeling in Fever and rounded #6 right on Fever's transom. After #6 we kept going right and later crossed ahead of both Fever and Doug. Doug eventually regained the lead and won the 505/FD class. Fever, on the other hand, never challenged us again, giving us the 505 win. Trevor did a great job for the first time in the boat and lots of fun was had by all. But the night's excitement wasn't over... Upon arriving at the hospital to spend a quiet evening with Noelle who has been on bedrest for the last 3 weeks, I was greeted with, "I think my water may have broken." Adam and Matthew were born at 5:45am and 5:46am Friday morning. Now that's an exciting Thursday night. Both boys and Mom are doing very well and will come home in a few weeks. We want to thank all of you for all the support you have given us during this very eventful pregnancy. Cheers, Mike |
